On this page I mention some of the legal design and automation projects I’ve worked on in the past or am working on now. Most of these are personal projects but sometimes I’ve built something to make a client job more efficient.
In some cases you’ll be able to take them for a spin, in others I’ll just pop up some screenshots, and occasionally I might put up some ideas to see what you think. If you like anything you see and want something similar for yourself, feel free to ask.
GPL Engine (themes)

I’ve produced two GPL Engines, one for WordPress theme developers, the other for WordPress plugin developers. This GPL Engine for themes asks a series of questions about your theme and then produces content for your style.css, readme and licence files for your theme folder, tailored to your specific circumstances.

This is the GPL Engine for WordPress plugins. Similar to the GPL Engine for themes, it asks a series of questions about your plugin and the produces content for your plugin file header, readme and licence files, tailored to your specific circumstances.

A while back I wrote an ebook called A Practical Guide to WordPress and the GPL. It’s available as an ebook or you can select an ebook plus audio package, or a business package which also has a terms of use builder for WordPress theme and plugin shops. The video above explains how the builder works.
Simple blogger privacy policy builder

After I wrote a privacy policy for my blog WP and Legal Stuff, it occurred to me that other bloggers in a similar position might want their own based on my one. So I whipped up a simple tool to enable them to do that. It’s based on a few assumptions and may not be apt in all countries, but it helps get them started.
PI Flows

For a client matter I was working on, I needed to summarise a wide range of specific information collection and sharing provisions and present them in a standardised format. It was too early to know how people would want to use the data and I wanted it to be re-usable and available in different formats so I made an online tool to help collect the data. Read more…
